Mama returns back home.
We are so happy that our mum Mama Zipporah returned back home safely after her medical trip
in India. As you all know our mum travelled to India in mid-May 2019 for a medical trip aimed
at rectifying her spinal cord. We are grateful to God as since Mama returned from India she is
recuperating well. The Spinal surgery was successful because the compressed vertebrae and
nerves caused by the vertebrae fractures were rectified and thus the excruciating pain she was in
stopped. Mama is currently on aggressive physiotherapy to enable her walk on her own again
without any difficulties. It is really a blessing seeing her sit and walk without any pain but more
so seeing her happy and jovial as she usually is. The children are also at ease and happier with
Mama back as she is a stronghold in their lives. Thank you all for praying for our dear mum as
well as according her support both financially and emotionally. Continue praying for our mum so
that she can resume her health completely.

Pre-School Trip to the Ngong Hills.
Our little ones had a wonderful day out at the beautiful Ngong Hills, Kenya. The Ngong Hills
are peaks in a ridge along the Great Rift Valley, located southwest near Nairobi, in southern
Kenya. The word “Ngong” is an Anglicization of a Maasai phrase “enkong’u emuny” meaning
rhinoceros spring, and this name derives from a spring located near Ngong Town. The kids
together with their teachers got to exercise their little legs by climbing a part of the Ngong Hills
as well as enjoy some cool breeze. They played lots of games as well as enjoy lots of snacks and
goodies while on the trip. It was a day out to remember and we are happy that our little ones
experienced what hiking is all about.

Scouts Club Indoor Camp.
Our scouts held a 3 day indoor camp within the school premises where they were trained on
various first aid lessons. We are used to having our scouts camp outdoors thus it was an
interesting weekend having our kids in the compound but not in our daily routine program. First
aid is an important life skill that helps reduce fatalities and enables the faster treatment of
injuries. It also has an important role to play the students with a sense of purpose and
achievement, giving them the skills that will potentially save lives. Our scouts got to learn a lot in
regards to enabling them manage minor incidents that may happen here at home and in school.
The theme of the camp was “The more am aware of the accidents, illnesses and treatments, the
more I become conscious”. We are blessed to have such a club in our Home and School as they

are an essential asset to us.

Cultural Week.
This is a week where we saw our teachers, pupils and students create, participate and celebrate
the various diverse cultures in Kenya. This is an activity that was introduced to the school by one
of our transition student by the name Alex Oduor and it was a successful event. The staff and
students had an opportunity to showcase diversity through multiculturalism in arts, music and
fashion. The week was remarkable with staff and students beaming in their colourful native
attires that showcased different cultures in Kenya. With these activities and attires, our staff and
students demonstrated and promoted virtues of a united and one school – Ngong Huruma
Schools. Amazing displays and activities depicting the culture of various tribes highlighting their
customs and tradition was truly captured at the school.  Indeed the moments and events by the
students was commendable.
