The rains are still here with us and we thank God The rains are still here with us and we thank God for them. We are currently doing some planting with the older kids as they are currently on a two weeks school break. Each morning after our breakfast am going with my kids to the garden where we are spending most of our mornings planting different kinds of vegetables. It is really fun digging and removing weeds in the garden. I want to take advantage of the rain as they are really quality and adequate enough. Am excited to see what our farm will produce after this season.
The joy in Huruma after Lewis Ambei found his rela The joy in Huruma after Lewis Ambei found his relatives.
This is after 20+ years since he came to Ngong Huruma Children's Home. Lewis came to the Home following the departure of his father who was the breadwinner of the family. Due to financial constraints in the family, Lewis went to stay with his late grandfather. Lewis later came to the Home as a baby, where he started his new life in the orphanage. He lived without knowing where his relatives were and for us, the only person we knew was his late grandfather. After the death of his grandfather, we were left with Lewis as the only Family he knew. I was so happy to reconnect him with his family.
My joy is that I have been able to care for Lewis for all those years until now when he is a responsible young adult. Tears of joy would not be hidden from Lewis and his relatives.
Back at his home, the family is planning for a great homecoming party where a lost son will be returning back to his ancestral home. The family stated that he owns a very big piece of land back home which he will be gifted as a member of that family.
As a mother, I am so happy. This is one big success story that we have achieved together with all of you my friends and partners.
This weekend we had a wonderful time with our visi This weekend we had a wonderful time with our visitors from Seventh Day Adventist Church, where we received two groups of visitors under their wing. The first group was from OASIS youth group, which consisted of young men and women. They had a great time with our children where they got to play lots of games, danced together, cooked a delicious lunch for the kids and later held a chuch service in our church hall. It was such an awesome moment with God that afternoon.
Later in the afternoon, we received more visitors from Maxwell University, which is still under the Seventh Day Adventist Church. A group of men of God from different parts of the world were among these group of visitors which was truly a blessing to meet all of them. We had a good time together and we thank God for connecting us with more and more friends who really come and encourage our children not give up in life, but strive on until they achieve their dreams
.
I want to let you know that I am always grateful for any group visiting us and sharing their time with us. It is not in vain and the LORD is always working to repay you, for this is not easy on my own. Thank you so much for loving my children. We truly are grateful!
This is the new look of our High school teachers s This is the new look of our High school teachers staffroom. It looks more descent and comfortable unlike in previous years. My teachers can now say that they have a good place to work in, as we all strive to raise the bar and the performance of all my children.

We also have new balls for our school sports day. We now have new basket balls, volleyballs and soccerballs for both high school and primary school.

I want to pass my humble gratitude to Susan Dubois-Cousineau and all the Canadians who genuinely contributed towards a nice facelift of our teacher's staffroom as well as helping us purchase new balls.

I also want to thank Brad Karlberg who worked relentlessly with our transition boys and Josephat Mere, our contractor, in making new tables and book shelves for the staffroom.

God bless you all.

She is doing well in life after the completion of her school. She prints T-shirts and we have given her the work of printing our T- shirts (with the logo of HOPE FOR HURUMA FOUNDATION) for the 5km Marathon That will be happening this coming Saturday

To empower children in need to become productive members of society through rehabilitation, education and self-reliance skills is our mission. This has been evident to so many of my kids who have already come out of the home. My prayers is that my mission will be evident even to those who are still in the home.

Our wonderful friends from Australia under the GBAB ministry put a smile on 220 members of our community through gifting each one of them with a food basket full of assorted foodstuff and sundries. The individuals gifted the food hampers are from a slum in my area, Ngong as well as the elderly in my village, Olkeri. The drought in Kenya is real and it has ravaged the entire country and this wonderful gift of a food basket really came at the right time. Thanks so GBAB for putting a smile to a person who has so little to give back. God bless you and the entire visiting team.
