He was orphaned when his mother died in 1998 and afterwards his grandmother then took care of him. He is the second born in a family of two boys. His grandmother took him through primary education but when she could not financially manage his secondary education, she sent him to Huruma to look for help. He was then admitted at the Sunshine Secondary school by the help of the Faith Evangelistic ministry (FEM) under Evangelist Teresiah Wairimu and Huruma Children’s Home – Ngong. Later, he got an admission at the Moi University where he graduated with a degree in Bachelors of Science in Agricultural Economics and Resource Management.
