We greet you all in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is our sincere hope that you are all well and that the Lord has been with you every step of the way. We trust that you enjoyed a joyful and refreshing festive season, filled with peace, love, and abundant blessings. Here at Huruma Children’s Home, we were truly blessed to have a wonderful and memorable season. Our hearts are full of gratitude for everyone who stood with us, shared with us, and made our children smile. Your love, prayers, and support made this time especially meaningful, and we thank God for each one of you who made it possible.

Two Months Break

We enjoyed a truly wonderful two-month school break that gave everyone ample time to rest, relax, and prepare well for the new academic term we have just begun. After a busy and demanding school year, this break was a much-needed season of renewal for both the children and the staff. It allowed everyone to step away from daily routines, regain strength, and return feeling refreshed, focused, and motivated. As we begin this new term, there is a renewed sense of excitement, determination, and hope as the children embrace new learning opportunities and set fresh goals for themselves.

Throughout the holiday period, life at Ngong Huruma Children’s Home was calm, joyful, and full of meaningful moments. The peaceful environment created space for laughter, play, reflection, and quality time together. Children and caregivers were able to bond more closely through shared activities, conversations, and moments of encouragement, strengthening trust and emotional connections. This time together helped nurture confidence, emotional well-being, and a strong sense of belonging among the children.

The break also provided an opportunity for spiritual reflection and personal growth, as we thanked God for His faithfulness throughout the past year and sought His guidance for the season ahead. As a family, we were reminded of the importance of love, unity, and support for one another. These precious moments of togetherness strengthened our sense of community and family within the home, preparing us emotionally, spiritually, and mentally for the journey ahead.

Christmas at Ngong Huruma Children’s Home

Christmas at Ngong Huruma Children’s Home was truly a special and joyful season for everyone. It was a time filled with love, laughter, and togetherness, making the celebrations just as meaningful and memorable as one would hope for. The festive spirit was felt long before Christmas Day itself, as preparations began early and the home was filled with joyful Christmas carols. The children sang with excitement, sharing songs of hope and praise with one another and with everyone who visited us during this beautiful season.

We were greatly blessed to receive many friends and well-wishers from different parts of the country who came to spend time with us. Their visits brought encouragement, warmth, and a strong reminder that we are surrounded by a caring and supportive community. The children were delighted to interact, share stories, and celebrate together with our visitors, making the season even more meaningful.

During the Christmas period, we enjoyed delicious meals and special treats that made the celebrations complete. We shared gifts, laughter, and moments of joy that brought smiles to every face. These simple yet precious moments created an atmosphere of happiness and gratitude throughout the home.

As the Christmas season came to an end, we joyfully welcomed the New Year in a special and uplifting way. The celebrations were filled with thanksgiving, reflection, and hope for the year ahead. This festive season not only lifted everyone’s spirits but also strengthened our sense of family and unity. We are grateful for the beautiful memories created during this time, which we will continue to cherish as a community at Ngong Huruma Children’s Home.

Thank you to everyone who made our Christmas a reality

New Year at Mama Ciku’s Home

The New Year began in a truly special and unexpected way for the Ngong Huruma Children’s Home family. On the first day of the year, we received a pleasant surprise call from our dear friend, Everlyne Wambui—lovingly known to us as Mama Ciku. She warmly invited us to her home to join her in celebrating the New Year together.

We gladly accepted the invitation, and the day turned out to be far more joyful than we had anticipated. The children were excited from the moment we arrived, and the change of environment provided a refreshing and much-needed outdoor experience. The open space, fresh air, and freedom to play brought great joy and laughter, allowing the children to relax, explore, and fully enjoy the day.

During the celebration, we shared delicious meals and spent quality time together in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The children participated in games, laughter, and joyful interactions that made the day truly memorable. This time of fellowship and celebration created a beautiful start to the year and reminded us of the power of kindness, generosity, and community.

We are deeply grateful to Mama Ciku for her love, hospitality, and thoughtful gesture of welcoming us into the New Year in such a special way. The joy experienced on this day lifted everyone’s spirits and created lasting memories that the children will continue to cherish. It was indeed a wonderful way to begin the year, filled with gratitude, happiness, and hope for the days ahead.

Excellent Junior School Examination Results

Another major highlight of the holiday period was the release of the Junior School examination results, which brought great joy and pride to the entire Ngong Huruma Children’s Home

family. We are delighted to report that our students performed exceptionally well, a testament to their hard work, discipline, and commitment throughout the academic year.

The strong results opened doors for many of our learners, with several being selected to join different senior schools across the country. This achievement reflects not only the determination of the students but also the dedication of our teachers, caregivers, and supporters who continuously guide, encourage, and support them in their educational journey.

We are equally proud that some of our children will continue their studies within our own institution. Having a senior school within our program provides a smooth and supportive transition, allowing learners to grow academically and personally in a familiar and nurturing environment. This continuity helps strengthen confidence and ensures that every child receives the guidance they need as they advance to the next level of education.

These encouraging academic results serve as a reminder of the importance of investing in education and believing in the potential of every child. We celebrate our students’ achievements and look forward with hope and excitement as they take the next steps in their learning journey. We thank God and all our partners for making these successes possible, and we remain committed to supporting each child as they pursue their dreams.

 More Children in Our Home

In recent months, Ngong Huruma Children’s Home has experienced a significant increase in the number of children under our care. This has followed the closure of two orphanages, which led to the relocation of many vulnerable children to different homes across the country. During this period of transition, we were blessed to receive several of these children into our home, and we thank God for the opportunity to care for them.

The first group consistedof children from the Garden of Hope Home. A total of twenty-two children were referred to various children’s homes nationwide, and we received twenty-two of them, who are now settling into life at Ngong Huruma Children’s Home. While the transition has required adjustment, the children have been warmly welcomed and are gradually becoming part of our family.

The second group joined us during the December school holiday last year. Fifteen children were transferred to our home from Wanalea Children’s Home. Their arrival further increased our population and highlighted the growing need for safe, stable, and loving environments for vulnerable children across the country.

As our numbers continue to grow, we are increasingly reminded of the reality that many children in Kenya are still in great need of care, protection, and support. This growth brings both responsibility and opportunity, and we are committed to doing our best to provide each child with love, guidance, education, and hope for the future.

At the same time, we are actively working on family tracing and reintegration for those children who have known families and relatives. Our prayer and hope is that, where possible, children can be reunited with their families in a safe and supportive manner. This process requires patience, resources, and careful coordination, and we trust God to guide us every step of the way.

We humbly ask you to continue praying for us and for children’s homes across Kenya. Many orphanages are facing closure for various challenges, and the need remains great. We thank God for His faithfulness in sustaining Ngong Huruma Children’s Home, and we are deeply grateful for your continued prayers, support, and encouragement as we serve these precious children.

ASANTE SANA

We sincerely thank God for our friends and donors who have stood with us through financial support, food supplies, faithful prayers, and by visiting us as a home. Your generosity, love, and commitment have been a great source of strength and encouragement to us. Every contribution, every prayer, and every visit made a meaningful difference and reminded us of God’s care through you. We are deeply grateful for your kindness and support, and we thank God for each one of you.
